課程概述 |
To develop writing and editing skills, students will analyze texts written for different purposes, learn about features of full-length essays in different genres, work on writing tasks, and complete various writing assignments. Students will learn about issues such as organization (e.g., general-specific/specific-general), style (e.g., formality/informality), coherence and cohesion, stance-taking, and plagiarism (paraphrasing/citation practice). This course addresses a number of essential questions: How can writing be seen as a dialogue between writer and reader? How do we craft an argument in a persuasive way? Students will also learn how to use evaluative language to formulate a voice in writing. |
